Transparency in Coverage (TiC) and CAA

Avoid surprise bills

Sometimes your doctor may order tests or treatments for certain conditions that are considered experimental and investigational under your plan. It’s important to know that we usually don’t provide coverage for this. If this happens, you’ll be responsible for the cost of the service. That’s why it’s important to talk to your doctor or other provider about your coverage before you seek care.
Keep these things in mind

Remember that your health care is a partnership between you and your doctor.

Always ask questions to help ensure your care is covered.

Understand that if you go for care that’s considered experimental and investigational, you’ll have high out-of-pocket costs.

We’re always here to help
Count on Aetna or Local 145 Health Services benefits department to explain your benefits plan and answer any questions you have. To reach Aetna, just call us at the number on your member ID card.  To reach Health Services call 1-203-375-6088.

The Transparency in Coverage final rule, released on October 29, 2020, requires health plans and issuers to publicly disclose pricing information via machine-readable files (MRF).

As a self-funded plan sponsor, we are responsible for complying with the regulations and Aetna is committed to working with us.  Below is a machine-readable file to meet the MRF requirements of the Transparency in Coverage final rule.  Click below for pricing informaiton:
